Prologue by The Rev. C. Buko

1.    PROLOGUE
Presenter: The Rev. Christian Buko

Hymn – Singing is one of the most popular and best loved part of our musical heritage. The alliance of melody harmony and rhythm with words that touch our deepest emotions, triggering images and feelings of the past and our dreams yet to be, make the great hymns of Christendom more memorable than any music.

The tradition goes back many centuries to the chanting of Psalms. From that time until now there has been an astonishing outpouring of hymns from every denomination of the Christian Church, from many different countries and ethnic traditions.

In our Christian culture, hymns learnt at Sunday School, sung at weddings, funerals or celebrations have long made indelible impression in our memories, some of which are happy, some sad, but nevertheless memories that tug at our emotions and are an integral part of the rich tapestoy  of our lives.

To those “faithful” who have made this programme meaningful, may you continue to find favour in the sight of God.
