Meeting the Body at the Entrance : Sentences

MEETING THE BODY AT THE ENTRANCE
       SENTENCES WITH PROCESSIONAL HYMN  216

We brought nothing into this world and it is certain we shall depart this world with nothing; the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Hymn EMHB 216  -    YMHB  126

1.            Jesus lives! thy terrors now
            Can, O death, no more appal us;
            Jesus lives! by this we know
            Thou, O grave, canst not enthrall us.
Hallelujah!

1.            Jesu ye !- titi aiye
Eru iku ko ko ba ni mo;
Jesu ye !- nitorina
Isa oku ko n’ ipa mo.
Alleluya.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.  God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

2.         Jesus lives! to Him the throne
                        High o’er heaven and earth is given;
We may go where He is gone,
                        Live and reign with Him in heaven.
Hallelujah!

2.         Jesu ye !-gbogbo ‘joba
L’ orun, li aiye, di Tire;
Awa na si le tele;
K’ a joba pelu Re lorun.
Alleluya.

The hour is coming and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.  I am the good shepherd.  My sheep hear my voice and I know them and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

3.         Jesus lives! for us He died;
            Hence may we, to Jesus living,
            Pure in heart and act abide,
            Praise to Him and glory giving.
Hallelujah!

3.         Jesu ye !- fun wa l’ O ku;
E jeki a ma se Tire,
K’ a fi okan funfun sin,
K’ af’ iyin at’ ogo fun U.
Alleluya.

Because, I live, you will live also in the world you have tribulation, but be of  good cheer, I have overcome the world.

4.         Jesus lives! our hearts know well
                        Nought from us His love shall server;
Life, nor death, nor powers of hell,
            Part us now from Christ for ever.
Hallelujah!

4.         Jesu ye !- ko s’ ohun kan
T’ o le pa ‘na ‘ fe Re si wa;
Iye on iku pelu,
Ko le ya wa lodo Kristi.
Alleluya.

If we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord,  so then whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s, for to this end Christ died and lived again; that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living.  Our Saviour Christ Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality to light, through the gospel.

5.         Jesus lives! henceforth is death
            Entrance-gate of life immortal;
            This shall calm our trembling breath
            When we pass its gloomy portal.
Hallelujah!

5.         Jesu ye’ – lat’ oni lo
Iku je ona si iye;
Eyi y’ o je ‘tunu wa
‘Gbat’ akoko iku ba de.
Alleluya.
