LAY DOWN, THY HEAD UPON THY SAVIOUR'S BREAST / GB' ORI LE AIYA OLUGBALA RE

INTERMENT

SENTENCES AT THE GRAVE SIDE

As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him. For he knows our frame: he remembers that we are dust.

The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions.

18. HYMN – SSS 1041 (Verse 1-2)

1.    Sleep on, beloved, sleep, and take thy rest;

Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour’s breast

We love thee well; but Jesus loves thee best

Good-night! Good-night! Good-night!

2.    Calm is thy slumber as an infant’s sleep;

But thou shalt wake no more to toil and weep

Thine is a perfect rest secure, and deep

Good-night! Good-night! Good-night!
